In this role, you will work alongside Electrophysiologists and peers that will collaborate to enhance your skills and knowledge of Cardiology Device Technology. This department allows you to be on the cutting edge of advancements in this field and offers you the chance to stay updated with the latest tools and techniques. You will be trained on devices (such as pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD)) from four different vendors for a comprehensive learning experience that will broaden your expertise. We are committed to supporting professional development and recognizing employees' efforts to enhance their skills and will provide pay incentives for obtaining Cardiac Certification. Your orientation plan would include hands-on training with seasoned Device staff followed by formal education on devices to provide a structured approach to onboarding that would ensure you are well-prepared to excel in your role. Travel is required to our central OH and regional clinics (such as Mansfield, Cambridge & Chillicothe) and efforts are made to match your commute with your resident location. This provides a dynamic work environment that would offer diverse experiences and opportunities to work with a variety of patients and cases.

Requirements

  • RN - Registered Nurse - Ohio Board of Nursing
  • 5 years of cardiology and rhythm recognition experience

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of implantable cardiac devices
  • Electrophysiology experience
  • Cardiac Certification and/or Electrophysiology Lab Implant Certification is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing professional Nursing care in the analysis of data for patients with implantable cardiac devices including pacemakers, defibrillators and loop devices, following established standards and practices.
  • Providing nursing skills to evaluate patients with arrhythmias
  • Mastering the technical skills to evaluate patients with cardiac rhythm management devices
  • Troubleshoot Device Interrogation with collaboration with Electrophysiologists
  • Mastering knowledge of various manufacturers devices and models
  • Play vital role in new technology protocols
  • Face to face and telephone assessment of patients
  • Completes programming orders according to established protocols.
  • Performs interrogation, evaluation and reprogramming of all manufacturers’ models of cardiac rhythm management device.
  • Provides patient education
  • Manages documentation in Care Connect and Paceart.
  • The RN must be able to demonstrate the professional nursing skills to evaluate patients with arrhythmias and the technical skills to evaluate patients with cardiac rhythm management devices as well as the ability to program settings and troubleshoot in collaboration with electrophysiology specialists.
  • This position requires highly specialized knowledge of various manufacturers and models of these devices and their functions along with the ability to acquire, maintain and integrate new technologies as they evolve.
  • Promotes quality patient care by adhering to HRS and NASPE standards of care.
  • Triages phone calls and completes programming orders according to established protocols.
  • Performs interrogation, evaluation, and reprogramming of all manufacturers models of cardiac rhythm management devices.
  • Reviews remote, trans-telephonic, and in-office evaluations and completes documentation according to protocols.
  • Provides patient and family education with appropriate documentation in EMR and Paceart.
  • Adheres to billing guidelines and practices and promotes positive staff and inter-office relations.
  • Acquires, maintains, and integrates knowledge of scientific principles and derived technology-based interventions and therapies in cardiac pacing, defibrillation, and electrophysiology to provide and facilitate the provision of safe, optimal patient care.
  • Performs interrogation, evaluation and reprogramming of all manufacturers’ models of cardiac rhythm management devices.
  • Reviews remote, trans-telephonic and in-office evaluations and completes documentation according to protocols
  • Promote patient follow up compliance by providing education specific to each device and the recommended follow up protocols.
  • Provides patient and family education with appropriate documentation in EMR and/or Paceart.
  • Adheres to billing guidelines and practices
  • Promotes positive staff and interoffice relations
  • Schedules follow-up appointments
  • Fills out billing sheets
  • Enters data into Paceart for tracking
  • Sends correspondence to referring physician and patients
  • As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality and efficiency in performing job duties.
