About the position

The Early Intervention Developmental Specialist will work as an independent contractor within the RISE Early Intervention organization, providing support to families of children aged birth to three years with disabilities or special developmental needs. The role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver evaluations, assessments, and ongoing services in natural environments, focusing on enhancing children's growth and development through meaningful engagement in everyday activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evaluations and assessments for children with disabilities or special developmental needs.
  • Collaborate with families and community representatives to create and implement individualized service plans.
  • Conduct one-on-one sessions with children in their natural environments, such as homes or daycare settings.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of AzEIP and DDD policies, child development, and family partnerships.
  • Participate in a multidisciplinary team to support children's developmental skills in areas such as gross motor, fine motor, and language.
  • Maintain flexibility in scheduling to accommodate family needs, including evenings or weekends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, Speech Language Pathology Assistant, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Completion of the AzEIP Standards of Practice and Early Interventionists within three years of employment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Core Team Model and AzEIP Policies and Procedures.
  • Pediatric experience is a plus.
  • Ability to travel for meetings and training sessions.
  • Successful completion of a background check and obtaining a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with children with disabilities or special developmental needs.
  • Knowledge of family engagement strategies in early intervention.
