About the position
The Detention Officer position at G4S involves the secure and safe transportation, guarding, and escorting of detainees. This role is critical in ensuring the safety and compliance with legal regulations during the transportation process. Detention Officers are responsible for armed transportation services, monitoring detainees, and conducting necessary searches to maintain security.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and prepare transportation vehicles for daily operation requirements; perform pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles.
- Conduct pat-down searches of detainees and ensure they are properly secured during transport.
- Ensure all safety and legal measures are followed while transporting detainees, adhering to federal, state, and organizational laws and regulations.
- Fill out required paperwork accurately when obtaining and delivering detainees.
Requirements
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid California Security Guard License and Firearms Permit.
- Minimum of two years driving experience required.
- Experience as a law enforcement officer, military policeman, or security officer related to detaining individuals is preferred.
- Ability to understand and apply written and verbal orders, rules, and regulations.
