About the position

The Desktop Engineer - Junior position at Oneida Technical Solutions, LLC involves providing IT support and solutions in a highly regulated environment, specifically for the U.S. Department of Defense. The role requires managing Microsoft Active Directory, implementing security settings, and supporting Windows systems in a multi-tenant enterprise environment. Candidates must possess a SECRET security clearance and demonstrate strong communication skills, as they will interact with government customers and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Manage Microsoft Active Directory, including implementation of GPOs and STIG settings.
• Support Windows migrations and Active Directory upgrades.
• Build, configure, and manage Microsoft Windows servers in multi-tenant environments.
• Maintain hardened Windows operating systems to STIG compliance.
• Work with Enterprise Backup software and ensure data integrity.
• Manage Active Directory architecture and replication in a multi-domain environment.
• Work with virtual infrastructure, specifically VMWare.
• Utilize VB/Powershell for automation of common functions.
• Migrate large infrastructures from physical to virtual environments.
• Support web servers, databases, networks, and security scanning tools.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year experience in desktop engineering or related field.
• Must possess a fully adjudicated SECRET security clearance or higher.
• IAT II, T3, and Security + certifications are mandatory.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Windows migrations and Active Directory upgrades.
• Experience managing Windows systems including various Windows Server versions.
• Experience with SCCM methodologies.
• ITIL v3 Foundations Certification.
• Experience writing shell scripts for Windows system maintenance.
