About the position

Atelier Ten is seeking a full-time Design Staff member to join their San Francisco team starting in June/July 2025. This role focuses on analyzing design options related to sustainability, energy systems, and occupant health, while also managing LEED program administration. The Design Staff will collaborate with various stakeholders to create high-performance, sustainable buildings, contributing to a healthier planet through innovative design solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze design options and make recommendations on daylighting, energy systems, water use, thermal comfort, and sustainable materials.
  • Manage LEED program administration, including analyzing feasibility of specific credits and overseeing documentation processes.
  • Author project deliverables such as reports, memos, and technical reports.
  • Create graphic illustrations and drawings based on technical practices.
  • Communicate with clients and collaborate with technical analysis teams to support projects.
  • Work on a variety of project types, including institutional, commercial, and residential buildings, as well as large-scale masterplans.
  • Collaborate with integrated design groups to support environmental design consulting, daylight and façade analysis, and lighting design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental building design, architecture, architectural engineering, or building science.
  • 0-4 years of professional experience in a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign), and Rhino.
  • Demonstrated skills in computer and hand drafting, and sketching proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Good verbal, interpersonal, and writing skills.
  • Experience with LEED or sustainable design is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Skills in software such as R, Grasshopper, Radiance, Revit, eQuest, EnergyPlus, IES, D3, or data visualization.
