About the position

The Design Build Project Quality Manager at HNTB plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of fast-paced transportation infrastructure projects. This position is responsible for developing and implementing the Design Build Quality Management System (QMS), providing training and coaching to project teams, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. The Quality Manager collaborates with various stakeholders to enhance quality performance, manage risks, and improve profitability on design-build projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the implementation of the program/project quality management plan in accordance with client and HNTB requirements.
• Participate in work planning with clients and project management teams to determine quality management efforts.
• Review and approve subconsultant quality plans and those of other contracted entities.
• Monitor adherence to the project quality plan and report on compliance to internal and client stakeholders.
• Collaborate with quality leadership to develop and implement effective quality management technologies and processes.
• Establish and implement quality performance metrics to achieve delivery and client quality objectives.
• Participate in monthly meetings to report on project quality performance.
• Develop and oversee quality management plan training for project teams.
• Manage and implement a quality audit program and corrective action system.
• Provide recommendations to leadership regarding the performance of the quality management plan.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in quality management/engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 10 years of experience managing a quality program, including auditing experience in planning, design, or construction phases.
• Experience implementing quality management plans in compliance with ISO 9001 and/or FTA Quality Management System requirements.
• In lieu of a degree, 14 years of experience in a quality management position.

• Registered Professional Engineer (specific to Design-Build Projects)
• ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE)
• PMP, DBIA, AICP, or CMAA Certifications.
