About the position

The Deputy Technical Director at Pantheon Data will oversee the technical delivery of a large-scale digital transformation program for the US Navy, focusing on modernizing their HR enterprise. This role involves developing strategic roadmaps, managing technical risks, and ensuring effective communication among cross-functional teams to enhance service delivery to Sailors and their families. The position requires a blend of technical knowledge, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders to drive the organization's digital transformation efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Support a large-scale technical transformation program as Deputy Technical Director.
  • Decompose customer goals and vision into strategic roadmap, enterprise architecture, and technical implementation plans.
  • Lead a team of architects and operational SMEs to drive technical implementation plans.
  • Lead the strategy development process for IT architecture and modernization strategy.
  • Build strong relationships with technical leaders to advise across the customer organization.
  • Influence leaders to change existing processes and techniques to leverage advanced technology.
  • Partner with the Deputy Program Director and leadership team to maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Act as a customer liaison and technical champion of the transformation program.
  • Plan, build, and run the program's Enterprise Architecture and Modernization teams.
  • Develop As-Is and To-Be Enterprise Architecture and coordinate the development of Data Strategy, Cloud Migration Strategy, and Enterprise Security Strategy.
  • Construct and operate processes for enterprise architecture governance.
  • Recommend new technology investments to manage complexity within the customer's IT landscape.
  • Build and maintain a program-wide technology modernization strategy and roadmap.
  • Ensure compliance with DOD and Department of Navy enterprise architecture standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Ten plus years of experience leading large-scale government or DoD technology programs.
  • Experience managing large scale enterprise transformation programs including data center to AWS cloud migration projects.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • DoDAF, TOGAF, AWS Architect, Salesforce Architect, Enterprise Data Architect, CISSP, PMP or similar certifications.
