About the position
The Department Specialist in Ag & Feed at C-A-L Ranch Stores is a full-time role focused on driving customer loyalty and assisting with associate development. This position requires a minimum of 32 hours per week and involves mentoring new hires, selling merchandise, and maintaining the store's organization and cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers on the sales floor in a friendly and enthusiastic manner.
- Determine the make, type, and quality of merchandise desired by customers.
- Keep shelves stocked and merchandise properly tagged and signed with appropriate pricing.
- Maintain clean, neat, and organized work areas.
- Receive payment or obtain credit authorization for sales.
- Generate new C-A-L Ranch Credit Cards.
- Wrap or bag merchandise for customers.
- Take inventory of stock and requisition merchandise from the stockroom.
- Use a database to research the availability of merchandise.
- Operate the computer system for price checking, inventory maintenance, and label printing.
- Assist in the training of new associates or other employees.
Requirements
- Must complete all required training to be promoted to this position.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, with assistance for heavier items.
