About the position
Help support fearless journalism by connecting HR to the heart of our newsroom. We’re looking for a Departmental HR Partner to serve as the main point of HR contact for our Editorial team. Responsibilities
- Represent HR in weekly editorial meetings (Mondays at 11:00 AM ET)
- Help identify and relay HR needs such as recruitment, onboarding, or team concerns
- Collaborate with the central HR team to fill open roles and support volunteer success
- Support a positive, inclusive, and organized environment within the editorial department
- Coordinate with the HR Coordinator to assist with onboarding and general follow-up
Requirements
- Some HR experience or interest in learning (students and career changers welcome!)
- Strong communication and note-taking skills
- Comfortable joining department meetings and voicing HR-related needs
- Collaborative and responsive, especially in a remote setting
- Passionate about nonprofit work and investigative journalism
