About the position

The Department Lead at Rural King is responsible for overseeing the efficient operations of the assigned department, ensuring high standards of inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining a visually appealing shopping environment and enhancing customer satisfaction through effective team collaboration and adherence to company guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee scanning outs, inventory management, recovery, price changes, and planogram sets.
  • Maintain department cleanliness and adhere to the indoor merchandising guide.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels through regular stock counts and reconciliation of discrepancies.
  • Coordinate and execute price changes and update pricing labels and signage as required.
  • Manage the implementation of playbook features and ensure product arrangement according to company standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and assist customers with inquiries and concerns.
  • Support front-end operations by processing transactions or loadouts as needed.
  • Participate in cross-training for flexibility in various departments and responsibilities.
  • Engage in learning initiatives such as training programs and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of retail experience with knowledge of the specific department.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated adaptability to changing priorities and high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to lift, push, and/or pull a minimum of 30 pounds repetitively and 31-50 pounds intermittently.
  • Comfortable navigating computer systems and software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in customer service roles.
  • Familiarity with retail equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
