The position is for a Dental Officer in the Federal service, specifically under the Dental Officer Series 0680. This includes both paid and unpaid experience, such as volunteer work through National Service programs. Licensure is also required, including passing the National Board of Dental Surgery and holding a current, unrestricted license to practice dentistry. Responsibilities
- Evaluate, prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases, injuries, and disorders of the oral cavity and maxillofacial area.
- Perform dental procedures such as the removal of decay, filling cavities, straightening, extracting, and repairing teeth.
- Treat gum diseases and perform corrective surgery.
- Make measurements/models for dentures to replace missing teeth.
- Administer anesthetics and write prescriptions.
Requirements
- Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from an accredited institution.
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry.
- Passed the National Board of Dental Surgery (NBDE).
- Ability to distinguish shades of color.
