About the position

The Dental Technician - Denture position involves managing the Denture's and Partial's Department within a family-owned prosthetic laboratory. The role focuses on overseeing daily operations, staff management, production processes, and quality control, ensuring compliance with company protocols and regulatory requirements. The position offers an opportunity to work with advanced materials and technologies in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the manager in direct oversight and daily operation of the Denture's and Partial's Departments.
  • Manage all departmental staff, including designers, laboratory technicians, and general workers involved in the fabrication and production of prosthetics.
  • Determine staffing requirements, interview, hire, and train new employees.
  • Prepare work schedules and assign specific duties to staff.
  • Complete annual performance evaluations for each department staff member.
  • Manage staff activities related to models, trimming, dies, framework, polishing, and quality control.
  • Review department financial statements and performance data to measure productivity and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and execute growth, profit, and technology strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained in good working order and used in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct monthly department meetings to reinforce expectations and review performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-year college degree, preferably in a business-related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a dental laboratory as a Senior Supervisor or Department Manager.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and public speaking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong case analysis and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated strong PC skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, WebEx, and CRM.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with digital initiatives in dental laboratories.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, FTC, and FDA regulations.
