Additionally, the role requires taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays) and removing calculus and plaque from all surfaces of the teeth. The candidate will also apply preventive materials to the teeth, such as sealants and fluorides, and teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain their oral health, including tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling. Counseling patients about good nutrition and its impact on oral health is also a key responsibility. The position includes making impressions of patients' teeth for study casts, which are models used by dentists to evaluate treatment needs, as well as performing documentation and office management activities.
