About the position

As a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH), you play a critical role in promoting oral health & preventing dental diseases. We are counting on you to help our patients by conducting comprehensive oral health assessments, performing dental cleanings, and providing patient education. Your responsibilities will include reviewing medical histories, taking dental x-rays, assessing oral health conditions, and treating periodontal diseases. You will also educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and collaborate with dentists to develop tailored treatment plans.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive oral health assessments: Reviewing medical histories, taking dental x-rays, and assessing oral health conditions.
  • Perform dental cleanings and provide preventive care education to patients.
  • Utilize dental software for patient management and documentation.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
  • Collaborate with dentists to develop treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies.

Requirements

  • Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy as it relates to oral health.
  • Proficiency in patient care techniques and assessment methods.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proven experience as Dental Hygienist or similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA)
  • Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • A patient and friendly personality
  • Attention to detail
  • Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
  • Diploma in Dental Hygiene
  • Dentrix experience
  • EHR experience preferred
  • A self-driven individual who is willing to help in times in areas outside of hygiene when the time permits
  • Associate's Degree
  • Registered Dental Hygiene active state license, included but not limited to, radiograph, CPR, and local anesthesia state required certifications.
