About the position

We are seeking a self-motivated, knowledgeable, and dedicated Dental Assistant for our busy dental practice. The role focuses on ensuring adequate access to dental care for patients of all ages and demographics, while providing support to the dental team and maintaining a comfortable environment for patients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the treatment room for the doctor and the patient.
• Prepare the patient for treatment.
• Set up treatment room with the instruments and materials to be used.
• Pass instruments and supplies to the doctor.
• Use suction during the procedure and help keep the patient comfortable.
• Take and pour alginate impressions.
• Help educate patients.
• Help with charting.
• Bring the patient in for treatment and walk them out to the front desk after treatment.
• Take blood pressure and pulse when required.
• Sterilize instruments and disinfect the treatment room.
• Restock the room and inform the head assistant when supplies need to be ordered.
• Track lab cases as they are sent out and received back.
• Call dental labs to pick up cases or follow up when a case has not been received.
• Call patients who are late for their appointment.
• Help other staff members, both clinical and administrative, when needed.
• Look ahead in the schedule to ensure lab cases are here on time.
• Clean and maintain the hand pieces and equipment.
• Help keep the office clean and neat.
• Support and promote teamwork and a happy atmosphere in the office.

Requirements

• Valid Registered Dental Assistant license (preferred).
• Valid X-Ray Certification (preferred).
• 1 year of experience in dental assisting (preferred).
