About the position

The Dental Assistant at Community Medical Centers Inc. is responsible for assisting the dentist in various aspects of dental care, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation within the dental practice. This role involves working at multiple locations, providing support in clinical procedures, maintaining equipment, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Dentist in all phases of four-handed dentistry.
• Performs mouth-mirror inspections of the oral cavity under general supervision.
• Takes impressions for diagnostic and opposing models.
• Places and removes rubber dams.
• Maintains clean and organized operatories and equipment.
• Sets up tables and trays with necessary items and instruments.
• Sterilizes instruments as needed using autoclave and cold sterilization.
• Maintains inventory of all dental supplies.
• Assists the dentist and hygienist in providing preventive oral health knowledge to patients.
• Records oral exams as directed by the dentist.
• Pours and trims models for diagnostic studies.
• Exposes, processes, and mounts radiographs.
• Aids in the presentation of post-operative instructions.
• Assists in the delivery of local anesthetic.
• Translates for the dentist as required.
• May be required to work week nights and weekends.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years of Dental Assistant experience or completion of a Dental Assistant Program.
• Certification by the State of California to take Dental X-Rays.
• Current certification in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• Valid California Driver's license, proof of insurance, and personal transportation.
