About the position

This position is for a Dental Assistant within the Federal service, specifically for locations in Fort Hall, ID; Salem, OR; Warm Springs, OR; Nespelem, WA; Omak, WA; and Toppenish, WA. Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists in various procedures and treatments.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays).
  • Monitor patients during procedures, including nitrous oxide administration.
  • Perform coronal polishing and apply sealants.
  • Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited dental assistant or dental hygiene program.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.
  • Knowledge of radiation physics, biology, health, safety, and protection.
  • Certification as a radiographer in the field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in advanced dental procedures such as restorative fillings.
  • Familiarity with dental software and electronic health records.
