Dr. Eric Perez is seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Dental Assistant or Dental Assistant to join his dynamic dental team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional dental care and ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. Your expertise and professionalism will contribute to the success of our practice and the overall oral health of our patients. The Dental Assistant role requires a hard-working individual who can also deliver a comfortable experience for our patients. This role reports to the Owner Doctor. The hourly wage range for this position is $18 - $28 per hour, depending on experience. Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, including but not limited to, restorative, surgical, exams, and cleanings.
  • Prepare and arrange dental instruments, materials, and medications as needed.
  • Greet and prepare patients for treatment, ensuring their comfort and answering any questions they may have.
  • Obtain and record patient's dental history and vital signs, and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized clinical environment.
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment, as well as maintain compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) as per dentist's instructions.
  • Ensure proper patient positioning and radiation safety measures are followed.
  • Instruct patients on oral hygiene practices, post-operative care, and preventive measures.
  • Educate patients on the importance of maintaining good oral health.
  • Manage patient records, update treatment plans, and assist front office with scheduling patient appointments as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent, and specified training courses as mandated by state for certification, licensure, or registration.
  • Certifications/licenses/registrations as mandated by applicable state.
  • Highly organized and attentive to patients’ needs.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Must be able to explain procedures and educate patients.
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and exhibit a compassionate and caring demeanor.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a diverse dental team.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with a calm and professional demeanor.
  • Open Dental experience a plus.
  • 2+ years experience preferred.
