About the position

The Demand/Supply Chain Analyst position within the Department of Defense focuses on utilizing information technology systems to analyze and improve demand and supply chain performance. The role involves monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), advising senior management, and coordinating with various specialists to enhance operational efficiency. This position is critical in ensuring that the supply chain meets its performance targets and addresses any issues that may arise.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes available IT systems to extract and analyze DoD and DLA transactional data.
  • Monitors, analyzes, and evaluates implementation of accepted proposals for improving KPIs.
  • Recommends improvements based on analyses and/or trends.
  • Advises and assists senior management in defining performance metrics.
  • Conducts expert analysis regarding demand/supply chain performance issues.
  • Coordinates with functional process analysts and subject-matter specialists.
  • Analyzes data regarding past, present, and projected demand/supply chain activity.
  • Identifies trends and factors adversely affecting performance.
  • Develops proposals for new or revised process structures to improve performance effectiveness.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service or equivalent in the private sector.
  • Experience using demand/supply chain applications such as SAP, JDA, COPA, NDMS, SAS, and DSS.
  • Ability to apply analytical techniques to investigate and evaluate activities within the demand/supply chain area.
  • Experience performing analysis of demand/supply chain KPIs such as Fill Rate and Material Delay.
  • Proficiency in writing SQL code for data mining purposes.
  • Experience using spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel) for data analysis and reporting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with DoD Acquisition Life Cycle Logistics certification.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) requirements.
