About the position

The Delivery Specialist is responsible for maintaining and operating store vehicles to deliver parts and products to professional customers safely and efficiently. This role includes collecting payments on C.O.D. deliveries and handling customer returns, ensuring a high level of customer service throughout the delivery process.

Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles to deliver parts and products to customers safely and efficiently.
• Use delivery fleet management hand-held devices to process deliveries and capture customer signatures.
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of delivery vehicles, completing daily inspections before operation.
• Secure delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, hand-held devices, and collected monies at all times.
• Pick up customer returns and fill out driver return slips as necessary.
• Communicate any customer issues or special needs to store management.
• Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or damage to the store manager immediately.
• Ensure fuel tanks are filled and vehicles are locked and secured at the end of the day.
• Clock in/out according to company policy and perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid state driver's license and meet company driving eligibility requirements.
• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing delivery situations.
• Driving record must meet the company's 14/18-point record system.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with automotive parts.
• Ability to operate other light store equipment.
• Fluency in multiple languages, especially Spanish.
