About the position

The Decision Support Analyst will work under the supervision of the Decision Support Manager to develop and maintain the health system's decision support systems. This role involves cross-training in various aspects of decision support, including cost accounting, productivity, budgeting, and software applications. The analyst will also assist in the annual budget process and provide education and training to staff.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the annual budget process including building budget modules and providing education and training to staff members.
  • Cross-train and serve as Applications Coordinator for Finance with dotted line responsibility to Information Technology for maintaining appropriate access controls of module dictionaries.
  • Prepare all Medicare and Medicaid contractual spreadsheets and monthly entries including evaluating the appropriateness of estimated allowances across the health system.
  • Prepare lead schedules for all investments and bonds for the health system and the Foundation.
  • Work closely with Decision Support Manager to promote and role model use of electronic systems to the fullest extent possible.
  • Test and maintain software to ensure accuracy of data and workability of functions.
  • Assist Director of Accounting and Decision Support Manager with other duties as assigned.
  • Assist with creation of financial projections, metrics, and proformas for Finance.
  • Support departments, directors, and administrators on business practices and opportunities.
  • Create relationships for long-term success.
  • Analyze information provided by consultants as needed.
  • Create reports as requested by managers.
  • Conduct training and interviews for financial analysis, budgeting, productivity and cost accounting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Two years of related experience.
  • Working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures.
  • Ability to perform consistently at best and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to prioritize job duties to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with detailed information where errors are not easily detected.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to teach classes and do presentations.
  • Strong information systems skills and ability to navigate software programs easily and identify data integrity issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact as a liaison between the Accounting department and customers.
