About the position

The Dean of the Bitonte College of Dentistry is a key academic leader responsible for providing overall leadership, vision, and strategy for the college. This role involves engaging with faculty and staff to develop and execute a vision that supports the college's educational, research, clinical, and public service missions. The Dean will collaborate with various stakeholders, including clinical partners and community organizations, to ensure the college's success and sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the chief executive and academic officer for the College of Dentistry.
• Provide administrative and academic leadership for the programs and missions of the college.
• Develop and execute resource plans and budgets to further the college mission.
• Maintain and oversee an organizational structure that meets the strategic goals of the College of Dentistry.
• Strengthen and create sustainable partnerships with regional health care systems.
• Engage in meaningful fundraising activities to encourage philanthropic giving to the college.
• Act as the 'face and voice' of the college to external and community constituents.
• Develop and implement a community engagement and recruiting strategy for new students.
• Support policies and practices that recognize the importance of recruitment and retention, development, diversity, and talent management.
• Create and support a culture of collaboration and integration that fosters excellent education and research.

Requirements

• DDS or DMD from an accredited college or university with decanal experience in dental education.
• Minimum of five years experience in dental education administration and leadership positions.
• Licensed or eligible for a dental license in the State of Ohio.
• Eligible for appointment at the rank of Full Professor in the Bitonte College of Dentistry.
