About the position

The Dean of Academic Compliance at Dallas College is a leadership role focused on enhancing academic quality and ensuring compliance with educational policies and accreditation standards. This position provides guidance and support to the Associate Vice Provost of Academic Affairs, facilitating alignment with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) and overseeing compliance-related activities across the college's seven schools. The Dean will engage with various stakeholders to ensure programmatic accreditation and institutional reporting requirements are met, while also fostering partnerships to create responsive educational programs.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Associate Vice Provost of Academic Affairs.
  • Coordinates research for critical THECB responses on behalf of Dallas College.
  • Works closely with the Dean of Curriculum, Catalog and Faculty Credentialing and Chief of Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation to ensure curriculum changes are documented with accreditation bodies.
  • Engages and leads process and procedural audits of instructional-related matters and recommends improvements on policies and procedures.
  • Ensures proper coordination and notification of instructional-related actions to functional units and state and federal agencies.
  • Works closely with Vice Provosts, Deans, Academic Affairs, and Department Chairs to inform faculty about current educational policy.
  • Adopts and expands the use of technology solutions to enhance compliance-related activities.
  • Serves on college task forces, committees, and councils as required.
  • Researches, collects, and analyzes data to make informed decisions.
  • Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year.

Requirements

  • Master's degree required.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible teaching, administrative, and educational leadership or equivalent experience.
  • Successful experience in compliance-related knowledge, particularly related to THECB and programmatic accreditation is preferred.
  • Current and valid Texas driver's license required.
  • Official transcript will be required.
