About the position

The position is responsible for directing the daily outbound operations of the shipping/loading department within a distribution center. The role involves overseeing compliance with company policies, managing payroll and budgeting, providing leadership and training to team members, and maintaining safety standards. The position also requires collaboration with various managers to set and achieve departmental goals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the shipping/loading department.
• Ensure compliance with company operations, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain payroll figures, budgeting, and productivity within the departments.
• Perform scheduled evaluations on team members.
• Provide leadership, training, and guidance throughout the department.
• Work with managers to establish annual goals and plans to achieve them.
• Collaborate with human resources for effective recruiting, hiring, and training practices.
• Assist in planning for annual capital expenditure listings for budgeting purposes.
• Maintain safety standards and identify unsafe practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on customer service.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and match numerical and alpha characters quickly and accurately.
• Basic computer skills.

Nice-to-haves

• College degree or logistics certification.
• 2+ years previous supervisory experience.
• Advanced computer skills.
• Completion of O'Reilly supervisor training program.
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired).
