About the position

The position involves proper handling of incoming products to ensure accurate and available inventory. Employees are expected to perform all tasks according to best practice procedures while maintaining safety standards. The role includes unloading various types of merchandise from trailers, containers, and trucks, matching skid or box counts to Proof of Delivery documentation, and documenting any discrepancies. Employees will also be responsible for receiving products, stocking items from vendors, and managing warehouse transfers. The job requires placing products in various storage locations and researching discrepancies to confirm corrections before releasing products to inventory. Team members with experience may be designated as trainers, responsible for conducting training according to schedule and ensuring documentation is complete. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safety standards while operating and identify unsafe practices and situations.
  • Unload various types of merchandise from trailers, containers, and trucks.
  • Match skid or box counts to the Proof of Delivery documentation, noting any discrepancies.
  • Place skids where assigned on or near the dock, remove packing lists, and document Vendor Compliance issues.
  • Receive product on assigned batches, stock product from vendors, store returns, warehouse transfer, UPS or other small package shipments.
  • Properly place product in various types of storage locations from floor level to 72 inches high, or use powered equipment to place product in racking up to building ceiling height.
  • Research all discrepancies, confirm all corrections have been made, and close the batch which releases the product to inventory.
  • Follow instructions to acquire product from reserve locations, with and without power equipment, then remove and replace product in various types of storage locations.
  • Take ownership of the DC target training program ensuring that all training is conducted according to schedule, and that all documentation is complete.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills
  • Must complete and pass a company-standardized test
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment
  • Must be able to read and match numerical and alphabetical characters quickly and accurately

Nice-to-haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Experience in a warehouse environment specifically with alphanumeric or RF directed stocking
  • Familiar with automotive parts
  • Advanced computer skills
