About the position

The position involves operating fork trucks in a safe, efficient, and effective manner while unloading trucks and moving freight within the distribution center (DC). The essential job functions include moving incoming merchandise from the truck to the dock and from the dock to the correct stocking areas. Responsibilities also include stocking all rack merchandise, arranging rack surplus from zones appropriately, and setting down rack surplus for zones to facilitate order filling and replenishments. Additional tasks may involve replenishing outbound totes as needed, assisting with maintaining mezzanine zones, and performing miscellaneous tasks that require a fork truck. Safety standards must be maintained while operating, and unsafe practices and situations must be identified. Team members with experience may be designated as trainers, taking ownership of the DC target training program to ensure all training is conducted according to schedule and that documentation is complete. Trainers will explain specific job duties and functions to help ensure the success of new team members and convey any departmental or procedural changes to existing team members. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Must work well in a team environment.
  • Operating knowledge of fork trucks and power equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Experience operating various types of power equipment.
  • Advanced knowledge of parts lines in warehouse and surplus merchandise locations.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired).
