About the position
The Day Stocker position at Price Chopper is designed to assist customers by efficiently stocking shelves and displays while maintaining a friendly and courteous demeanor. The role involves ensuring that products are organized and accessible, contributing to a positive shopping experience for customers.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers by properly stocking shelves and displays.
- Unloading and sorting incoming shipments and stocking them in designated areas.
- Keep back room and cooler/freezer areas neat and ready for new deliveries.
- Stock grocery shelves by matching item UPC codes to shelf tags.
- Support the inventory process by accurately counting and recording merchandise.
- Change shelf tags and price markers on displays.
- Monitor products for damaged or un-saleable items and follow proper procedures for damage claims.
- Operate, clean, and maintain all equipment safely and competently.
- Meet or exceed productivity standards for team and individual results.
- Monitor expiration dates and ensure proper rotation of ad items.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area for customers and coworkers.
- Comply with health regulations, sanitation guidelines, and safety procedures.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal skills for customer interactions.
- Resolve customer complaints professionally and involve management when necessary.
Requirements
- Completion of ongoing training and development as listed on the Cosentino Learning Plan.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal skills for positive customer interactions.
- Basic math and reading skills required for the position.
