About the position

The Fork Truck Operator position involves ensuring the safe and accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of products within a warehouse environment. The role requires the use of various sit down LP trucks and emphasizes the importance of promoting a safe work environment through personal actions. The operator will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks and containers, checking and counting freight for accuracy and damage, taking inventory, directing products to the correct areas in the warehouse, and maintaining a clean work area. Additionally, the operator must report any faulty equipment or safety hazards to the supervisor and perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe and accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of products using equipment, including sit down LP trucks.
• Promote a safe work environment through personal actions.
• Load and unload trucks and containers using provided equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Check and count freight for accuracy and/or damage.
• Take inventory as needed.
• Direct product to the correct area in the warehouse.
• Clear work area of loose wood and plastic, sweep area as needed.
• Report faulty equipment, damage to racks, and other safety hazards to supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year sit down forklift experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with RFID.
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Self-motivator.
• Must be able to work overtime, days and/or evenings and weekends.
• Ability to read numbers and labels.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail and meet deadlines.
• Ability to safely lift up to 60 lbs. frequently.
