About The Position

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Database Architect Principal DBA with 15-22 years of IT experience specializing in enterprise database architecture, performance engineering, and database automation. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Oracle database technologies, deep SQL/PLSQL development skills, and hands-on experience implementing SRE and DevOps practices for large-scale database platforms in mission-critical environments.

Requirements

  • 15-22 years of experience in database administration, development, and architecture roles.
  • Strong expertise in Oracle Database Administration and Architecture.
  • Advanced proficiency in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL development, and performance tuning.
  • Experience in database automation and scripting (Python, Shell, Ansible).
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins and CICD frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, especially AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda).
  • Experience working with NoSQL and modern databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
  • Experience implementing database monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, CloudWatch).
  • Strong understanding of high availability, clustering, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and manage enterprise-grade database platforms ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.
  • Lead database architecture and engineering initiatives across development, QA, and production environments.
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL and PLSQL code to support high-volume enterprise applications.
  • Design and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies ensuring business continuity.
  • Implement database automation frameworks using tools such as Python, Ansible, and Jenkins.
  • Establish Database SRE practices focusing on reliability, observability, and proactive issue detection.
  • Manage and support multi-database environments including Oracle, MongoDB, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
  • Integrate database operations with CICD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
  • Implement monitoring and observability using Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, and CloudWatch.
  • Lead incident management, troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), and performance issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with application, DevOps, QA, and security teams to drive architecture decisions and platform improvements.
  • Mentor junior DBAs and developers while driving database best practices and governance.
