About the position

The Database Administrator at IBM Corporation is responsible for the continuous administration of various databases, including relational databases like Oracle and NoSQL databases. This role involves installing, upgrading, and patching production databases, conducting performance tuning, and ensuring compliance with service level agreements. The position requires proficiency in multiple tools and skills related to database management and administration.

Responsibilities

• Conduct day-to-day administration of databases including Oracle 19c, Oracle 18c, NoSQL databases, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Administer Oracle utility and application framework and billing solution Oracle customer care and billing.
• Install, upgrade, and patch production Oracle databases and utility application framework products.
• Conduct performance tuning of high-scale databases and clustered applications.
• Fix issues reported in systems within the service level agreement as required.
• Utilize at least eight of the specified tools and skills in database management.

Requirements

• Masters degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree plus five years of progressive experience in lieu of a Masters degree.
• One year of experience as a Database Administrator or related role.
• Experience must include utilizing at least eight of the specified tools and skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Agile and DevOps concepts.
• Familiarity with Cloud administration.
