About the position
The Database Administrator will support critical functions for mission clients in the Intelligence Community, focusing on developing and implementing databases and database services in cloud environments. This role involves database engineering, data ingestion, SQL design, and building specialized tools for custom products, contributing to data science tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement databases and database services (e.g., Aurora) in the cloud (AWS, Azure).
- Perform database engineering, including schema development and designing/implementing data ingestion procedures.
- Conduct lightweight data engineering tasks such as cleaning and conditioning data from various sources and loading it into local and cloud databases.
- Design and implement SQL as part of database creation and maintenance, responding to ADHOC query needs for mission purposes.
- Design and build specialized tools utilizing the database to generate custom products, including document automation.
- Contribute to other data science tasks beyond database needs, depending on candidate interest and capabilities.
Requirements
- Database administration experience, including cloud-based platforms.
- Working knowledge of data and ETL topics.
- Experience with Cloud DevOps (AWS, Azure).
- Ability to provide audience-appropriate written and verbal communications.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a diverse, fast-paced, multi-task environment and manage competing priorities.
- Demonstrated strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
