About the position

The Data Systems Analyst at EC Electric plays a crucial role within the MIS team, focusing on the design, implementation, and maintenance of data integrations and features. This position involves direct engagement with company management and external vendors to ensure effective technology-based solutions that align with the company's strategic goals. The analyst will also mentor team members and contribute to process improvements, making it a pivotal role in enhancing the company's data management capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical lead contributing to and directing the efforts of data integration efforts, including internal and external team members.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the existing content supply of applications and services.
  • Design, develop, modify, implement, and support data sharing components anywhere in the software stack.
  • Determine root cause for complex data integration issues and develop practical, efficient, and permanent technical solutions.
  • Remain current on new technologies and available vendor packages; evaluate and make recommendations as necessary.
  • Assist in task planning, estimation, scheduling, and staffing.
  • Mentor other members of the EC Company MIS team to allow for skill/knowledge development through advice, coaching, and training opportunities.
  • Determine process improvements, best practices, and develop new processes.
  • Support the annual budgeting process by documenting project objectives, goals, resource requirements, and cost estimates for the new initiatives being requested.
  • Work in close partnership with cross-functional teams and management.
  • Cultivate a positive workplace by being a high performing team member and agent for change and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties that are of similar nature as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, MIS, and/or applicable experience in industry.
  • 3+ years of successful data integration experience.
  • Experience in the construction industry is a plus.
  • Broad experience designing, configuring, and implementing large information systems.
  • Working knowledge of project management best practices.
  • Ability to provide in-depth evaluation and analysis of unique / complex technological issues.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate ideas, plans, and directives while building professional rapport.
  • Proven ability to collaborate successfully with internal teams and external resources in a productive manner that results in positive outcomes for the assigned work group and organization.
  • Working knowledge of cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft SQL: Queries, Views, Stored Procedures, Triggers, etc.
  • Strong understanding of PowerShell.
  • Strong understanding of Javascript: Microsoft Office Script, etc.
  • Strong understanding of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
  • Strong understanding of Power Automate low-code/no-code.
  • Strong understanding of accessing/using third-party APIs for data extraction/insertion/manipulation/transformation.
  • Strong understanding of source code management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the construction industry is a plus.
