About the position

The Data Modeling & Visualization Developer 3 role at ASM Research involves overseeing complex development projects, providing guidance to developers, and ensuring the design and implementation of software systems meet client requirements. The position requires a strong technical background in programming and web development, with responsibilities including coding, testing, and maintaining applications, as well as mentoring less-experienced team members.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and direction to developers on complex projects.
  • Conceive, design, and test logical structures to meet program requirements.
  • Write programs according to specifications and maintain applications.
  • Develop and improve site navigation and applications.
  • Coordinate with content developers and graphics designers to ensure technical feasibility.
  • Deliver technical consultation in new systems development and enhancements of existing systems.
  • Prepare functional specifications for program development.
  • Design user interfaces of interactive web applications ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Guide less-experienced team members on policies and standards in development.
  • Develop specifications for complex programs and oversee system tests.
  • Create coded unit tests and address program findings with testers.
  • Mentor less-experienced team members and demonstrate best practices in development.
  • Prepare required documentation including block diagrams and logic flow charts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master's Degree preferred.
  • 8-15 years of experience in programming or web development activities.
  • Experience with Java, XML, JavaScript, AJAX, and other programming languages.
  • Ability to design and develop prototypes from the ground up.
  • Experience designing scalable databases and developing applications against relational databases like Oracle or SQL Server.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently within multiple teams and under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving, logic, and analytic skills.
  • Familiarity with best programming standards and practices.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in information system design, including application programming on large-scale case management systems.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology.
