About The Position

Hubbell Utility Systems is seeking a Data & IoT Systems Engineer with 2 to 6 years of experience in data warehouse, data analysis, and data manipulation concepts. The role requires strong aptitude, learning agility for technology, and good communication skills to support the Aiken, SC facility. This position involves gathering requirements, developing and implementing solutions, creating and maintaining documentation, designing queries, performing data validation, developing data processing jobs, monitoring and recommending changes to SQL packages, troubleshooting data issues, and enhancing existing databases. Additionally, the role includes troubleshooting, maintaining, and developing the Hubbell Aiken Industrial Internet-of-Things (IIOT) network for vendor remote access and internal data collection, as well as evaluating and maintaining cloud storage solutions for IoT using MQTT.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 to 6 years of experience in data warehouse/data analysis/data manipulation concepts.
  • Strong aptitude and learning agility for technology.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience generating, maintaining, and using MSSQL & Microsoft Access databases.
  • Experience creating reports with Power BI, MS Access, Excel, and Web based reports using Apache Superset.
  • Minimum 2-4 years VBA experience.
  • Experience with IoT networking and security.
  • Solid understanding of OEE concepts.
  • Aptitude in Data Analysis and presentation.
  • Good knowledge of logical and physical Data Modelling using normalizing techniques.
  • Effective interpersonal & communications skills (English - verbal & written).

Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements from key business users and develop proposed solutions.
  • Review proposed solutions with key business users for approval of final solution and project scope.
  • Implement data transfers, queries, and reports to meet customer needs.
  • Create and maintain standards and procedural documentation related to solutions.
  • Design and develop queries for user community using different software tools.
  • Perform Data Validation and data integrity tests and ensure reports and applications comply with user requirements.
  • Develop jobs / processes to ensure efficient, accurate receipt and processing of data sources.
  • Monitor and recommend changes if required to all SQL packages and provide stored procedures and design and develop various relational databases.
  • Troubleshoot data inconsistencies and data integrity issues when necessary.
  • Provide enhancements to existing databases currently used in Operations by gathering detailed requirements and coordinating the implementation, rollout, and support of relevant systems with the databases.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and further develop the Hubbell Aiken Industrial Internet-of-Things (IIOT) network to enable vendor remote access to automation equipment and internal data collection and storage from automation equipment.
  • Evaluate, implement, and maintain cloud storage solutions for IoT using MQTT as necessary.
