Data Engineer

MashburnAtlanta, GA

About The Position

Mashburn is seeking a Data Engineer to join their internal data team. This role involves taking hands-on ownership of the existing data warehouse and dbt environment built on Google BigQuery. The focus is on maintaining and enhancing the current analytics stack and data models, which are partially supported by external developers. The primary objective is to bring more of this work in-house by developing a deep understanding of business processes and translating requirements into reliable data transformations. Implementing new data sources and data models will also be crucial. The Data Engineer will collaborate closely with BI developers and business stakeholders to deliver trusted, analytics-ready datasets that support reporting and decision-making across the organization. While this role does not involve dashboard or report development, it is critical for ensuring the quality, consistency, and usability of the data powering them. This is an individual contributor position with no people management responsibilities. Over time, the role will gain greater ownership of key data domains, more complex transformations, and broader responsibility for data accuracy and reliability. Success will be measured by improved delivery speed, reduced reliance on external development, and increased trust in data.
