About the position
The Data Center Field Coordinator I at Interstates, Inc. is responsible for commissioning and starting up control systems for data centers. This role involves programming, testing, and documenting automated systems while collaborating with management, customers, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution. The position requires building strong professional relationships and performing key responsibilities with some guidance.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and vendors.
- Ensure accurate installation and commissioning of system equipment.
- Assist with project planning, programming, testing, and documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and equipment issues.
- Provide updates to the Project Manager and document findings.
- Support service needs, including after-hours support if needed.
- Perform maintenance tasks and manage control networks.
- Follow and promote the company's safety standards.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Computer Studies or Engineering preferred.
- Experience with Industrial control systems and customer interaction regarding system requirements.
- At least one year of industrial controls or data center experience or equivalent education and experience.
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
- Superior safety record and great communication skills.
- 5 years of service or maintenance experience preferred but not required.
- Prior experience with Data Centers and proficiency in PLC programming, HMI development.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in dealing with customers regarding system requirements.
- Willingness to train.
