In this role you will have the opportunity to provide engineering and construction related project management and technical oversight of planning, design, analysis and studies for domestic and international geotechnical and Heavy Civil projects. Functions as engineering manager and technical specialist supporting project and pursuit teams on Heavy Civil projects. Supervise multi-disciplinary engineering teams on projects of medium to high complexity and is responsible for execution of assigned projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support geotechnical and Heavy Civil Business Line projects including Dams and Hydro Practice Pursuits
  • Perform site visits of on-going construction work and overseeing geotechnical field investigations, may require up to 30% field work
  • Prepare design materials for basic design assignments including basic analysis, design calculations, equipment research, sketches, etc.
  • Review manufacturer's drawings with respect to B&V design criteria; marks for conformance
  • Prepare a variety of complex engineering deliverables
  • Plan and conduct independent evaluation, selection and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria
  • Review lower level engineering work or assignments
  • Coordinate design with other personnel working on same project to minimize design conflicts
  • Perform special studies or analyses of specific portions of a project; study includes research, investigation or coordination
  • Coordinate with personnel in other departments and client personnel to review designs and resolve areas of concern
  • Supervise the engineering work of assigned Drafters, Designers, and subordinate Engineers
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work for an assigned portion of a major project or the total project of moderate scope
  • Develop alternate methods, techniques or design concepts as required to resolve unique design problems

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program
  • Minimum of 8 years related work experience
  • Active P.E. license or be in active pursuit of registration
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements

Nice-to-haves
