Dairy Manager

About the position

The Dairy Manager is responsible for selling and stocking dairy food items, receiving, storing, stocking, and merchandising dairy products. This role involves creating and building promotional displays and endcaps, ordering products, assisting customers in locating merchandise, and engaging in suggestive selling. The Dairy Manager rotates products and ensures code date compliance, communicates with customers, associates, and management in a polite and professional manner, and cleans work areas as needed. Additionally, this position supervises the department to ensure that sales goals, gross profit percent goals, and distribution goals are met.

Responsibilities

• Sells and stocks dairy food items
• Receives, stores, stocks, and merchandises dairy products
• Creates and builds promotional displays and endcaps
• Orders product
• Assists customers in locating merchandise and engages in suggestive selling
• Rotates product and ensures code date compliance
• Communicates with customers, associates, and management in a polite and professional manner
• Cleans work areas as needed
• Supervises department to ensure sales goals, gross profit percent goals, and distribution goals are met

Requirements

• Knowledge of all aspects of grocery store operation
• Must be able to work a variety of shifts including nights and weekends
• Excellent communication skills with vendors, customers, and employees
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 40 lbs
• Must possess excellent communication skills (both oral and written), good leadership and interpersonal skills
• Ability to get along with customers, vendors, suppliers, and associates, and must be able to motivate and lead others
• Management experience preferred but not required
