About the position

SAIC is seeking rising junior or senior students for Cybersecurity Engineering internship positions within the Ground-Based Radar Maintenance and Sustainment Services (GMASS) for the summer of 2025. Interns will engage in cybersecurity support, design, and sustainment activities on a government radar system, working closely with subject matter experts in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cybersecurity scans, patches, and vulnerability assessments alongside subject matter experts.
  • Review and assess requirements, diagrams, and documents.
  • Establish and configure network protocols.

Requirements

  • Pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a STEM-related field such as Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science.
  • Must be willing and able to obtain a Secret security clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship.
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic understanding of cryptography principles.
  • Python scripting skills.
  • Understanding of the OWASP Top Ten vulnerabilities.
  • Knowledge of operating systems security.
  • Familiarity with security concepts: CIA (Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability).
  • Understanding of networking concepts: TCP/IP, Firewalls.
  • Knowledge of SIEM tools, Intrusion Detection, and Incident Response.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards: NIST, ISO, GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, CMMC.
