About the position

The Cyber Vulnerability Assessment Analyst SME at TestPros is responsible for supporting a Federal cyber security program by managing vulnerabilities, conducting assessments, and ensuring compliance with security controls. This role involves leading penetration testing, developing security architectures, and providing guidance to system engineering teams to mitigate security risks. The position requires a strong background in information security, risk management, and supervisory experience to oversee teams and projects effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Lead penetration testing and develop advanced security scenarios.
  • Test systems against developed security scenarios.
  • Develop advanced security architectures for custom countermeasures.
  • Advise system engineering teams to reduce security vulnerabilities.
  • Perform advanced code and protocol analysis for cyber threat capabilities.
  • Manage vulnerability and POA&M tracking, ensuring weekly updates.
  • Review change requests for compliance with security requirements.
  • Prepare detailed weekly status reports on activities and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and maintain security documentation in accordance with NIST standards.
  • Support service and product teams in selecting and tailoring security controls.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience as a Security Engineer with supervisory abilities.
  • Experience assessing security in cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Expertise in information security planning, compliance, and risk management.
  • Knowledge of NIST RMF and vulnerability remediation processes.
  • Experience in analyzing network security and implementing best practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Agency experience (ideally DHS CISA).
  • Cyber program experience.
  • SAFe and DevSecOps experience.
