About the position

The Cyber Incident Response Specialist II role at ASM Research involves analyzing and mitigating potential branding and reputation threats to the organization. The specialist will investigate security incidents, develop cyber-intelligence tools, and ensure the protection of proprietary data and systems. This position requires a proactive approach to cybersecurity, focusing on both technical and strategic aspects of incident response.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze potential branding and reputation threats to the organization and take action to resolve them.
  • Investigate computer and information security incidents to determine the extent of compromise to national security information.
  • Assist with defining security objectives and system-level performance requirements.
  • Research and stay abreast of tools, techniques, countermeasures, and trends in computer network vulnerabilities.
  • Configure and validate secure systems, testing security products to detect weaknesses.
  • Maintain the computer and information security incident, damage, and threat assessment programs.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of system audits and monitor corrective actions until closure.
  • Support the development of integrated system solutions to protect proprietary data.
  • Establish strict program control processes to mitigate risks and support system certification and accreditation.
  • Perform research using publicly available data sources.
  • Use data mining tools to collect data for further research and analysis.
  • Ingest, triage, prioritize, assign, track, document, and manage branding or reputation incidents.
  • Document technical details of current or potential brand threats.
  • Monitor websites, search engines, dark web, and social media for potential brand threats.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in systems security.
  • Effective communication skills to present technical approaches and findings clearly.
  • Attention to detail and ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously.
