About the position
The CVICU Registered Nurse position involves providing specialized care to patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. The role focuses on administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and acting as a liaison between patients and doctors, ensuring optimal recovery for patients post-surgery and during critical care.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and check vital signs of patients.
- Alert doctors of any major changes in the patient's condition.
- Act as a liaison between doctors and patients, ensuring effective communication.
- Provide daily care to patients in the CVICU, ensuring comfort and recovery.
- Administer care for patients following open-heart surgery.
- Responsible for the treatment and care of heart transplant patients.
- Educate the patient's family on ongoing needs and care of the patient.
Requirements
- Active RN License
- Degree from an accredited nursing program
- BLS & ACLS Certifications
- Eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care CVICU setting
