About the position

The Customer Trainer plays a key role in delivering both classroom-based and hands-on training to customers of the Konecranes Training Institute (KTI) who operate, inspect, and maintain overhead and mobile cranes. Instruction is conducted either onsite at customer locations or at Konecranes training facilities. In addition to training delivery, the customer trainer collaborates with colleagues to develop, update, and enhance instructional materials, ensuring they align with industry standards and the evolving needs of crane operators and maintenance personnel. KTI is seeking a customer trainer with electrical and mechanical crane maintenance expertise. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively teach and demonstrate crane operation, diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance. Training will cover all critical electrical and mechanical components of crane systems, ensuring participants gain a comprehensive understanding of their functionality and maintenance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct training sessions in a classroom and practical setting, ensuring engagement and knowledge retention among participants.
  • Conduct occasional webinar training sessions.
  • Administer assessments, quizzes, and tests to evaluate the understanding and proficiency of participants.
  • Assist in developing and updating instructional materials for the technical training curriculum.
  • Evaluate the overall effectiveness of the technical training program and assist in making improvements.
  • Collaborate with other trainers to stay updated on industry regulations and incorporate relevant changes into the training sessions and materials.
  • Adapt training materials to meet the learning needs of the business and incorporate feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Complete all pertinent training session documentation to ensure prompt invoicing.
  • Serve as a resource for technical questions originating from the field.
  • Assist in safety training as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience operating and maintaining overhead and/or mobile cranes.
  • Proven experience as a technical trainer or in a similar role.
  • A trade school degree (or equivalent education or field experience, such as military service) in an industrial subject is preferred.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to break down complex technical concepts into easily understandable components.

Nice-to-haves

  • Having a current CIC, NCCER, or NCCCO certification in Mobile Crane operation is a plus.
