About the position
The Customer Service Representative position within the NC Dept of Adult Correction's Correction Enterprises division serves as the primary point of contact for customers seeking to place orders or conduct business. This role involves managing a high volume of customer interactions, maintaining knowledge of products and services, and utilizing various software systems to process orders efficiently. The representative will also participate in events such as conferences and tradeshows, which may require overnight travel.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers via phone, email, or in-person visits.
- Handle customer inquiries and process orders efficiently.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, services, and plant schedules.
- Utilize Microsoft Office programs and agency databases for order entry and customer service tasks.
- Participate in vendor booths at conferences and tradeshows, including potential overnight travel.
Requirements
- Demonstrated effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to analyze and interpret policy and procedural guidelines.
- Progressive customer service experience with a focus on resolving complaints and processing orders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Must possess a valid driver's license and meet special qualifications for certification.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a correctional or governmental environment.
- Familiarity with Business Information Data System (BIDS) and Global Shop.
