About The Position

The position is designed to give “on the job training” while working with a full time mentor in the agent’s office to build and cultivate customer relationships. You will be working to assist current customers to help customers manage their unique insurance and financial needs. The mission of the agency is to help people manage the risks of everyday life, recover from the unexpected and realize their dreams. We help customers with their insurance and financial services needs, including Auto Insurance, Home Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement Planning, Business Insurance, College Planning, Health Insurance, and Renters Insurance. The office is located in Westland and is open 9am-5pm. The agency has 3 team members and 15 years of combined insurance experience. The agency has received awards including: Ambassador Travel, Legion of Honor, and Senior Vice President's Club.

Requirements

  • Sales experience (outside sales or inside sales representative, retail sales associate, or telemarketing) preferred.
  • Successful track record of meeting sales goals/quotas preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and listening.
  • Enthusiastic about the role insurance and financial products play in helping people manage the risks of everyday life, recover from the unexpected, and realize their dreams.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Proactive in problem solving.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to make presentations to potential customers.
  • Ability to conduct interviews in the office and in customer's home or business.
  • Property and Casualty license (must be able to obtain).
  • Life and Health license (must be able to obtain).
  • Selected candidate is expected to remain current in product changes, licensing, technical developments, and continuing education.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt, accurate, and friendly customer service.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding insurance availability, eligibility, coverages, policy changes, transfers, claim submissions, and billing clarification.
  • Use a customer-focused, needs-based review process to educate customers about insurance options.
  • Adapt skills necessary to operate a business.
  • Market property/casualty, life, health, bank and mutual fund products.
  • Set sales and growth goals.
  • Work closely with the agent to gain an understanding of the agent’s role and office logistics.
  • Learn how to network effectively.
  • Coach and develop others on the team.
