About the position

As a Customer Service Associate at Walgreens, you will play a crucial role in delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience. Your primary responsibility will be to engage with customers and patients, greeting them warmly and offering assistance with products and services. You will be expected to resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience for every individual who walks through the door. This position requires you to model and share customer service best practices with your team members, emphasizing interpersonal habits such as greeting, maintaining eye contact, and demonstrating courtesy. You will also embody Walgreens service traits, which include proactively offering help, identifying customer needs, and ensuring satisfaction until the customer's needs are fully met. In addition to customer engagement, you will be responsible for operational tasks that include registering sales on the assigned cash register, providing efficient checkout service, and ensuring that all transactions are handled accurately. You will recommend items for sale to customers, including trade-up and companion items, and manage the cash register by collecting cash and distributing change as needed. Your role will also involve maintaining a clean and well-merchandised environment, taking inventory, and keeping records as required. You will be expected to comply with state and local laws regarding regulated products, such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco products, and assist in constructing and maintaining displays for promotional and seasonal merchandise. Furthermore, you will assist with the separation of food items and ensure proper product placement according to company policies. You will also provide customer service in the photo area, which includes digital passport photo services and suggestive selling of promotional photo products. As part of your responsibilities, you will monitor web pick-up orders, fill them, and deliver them to customers as they arrive at the store. Maintaining a clean and orderly store condition is essential, and you will be expected to comply with all company policies and procedures while fostering respectful relationships with coworkers. Lastly, you will attend training sessions and complete any personal development tasks assigned by your manager or corporate.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintaining a clean and orderly store appearance.
  • Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
