About the position

The Customer Product Growth Specialist - Industrial position is focused on leveraging technical expertise in products and industry knowledge to enhance customer relationships. This role involves consulting with customers on technical aspects of products, troubleshooting issues, and advising on product usage and costs. The specialist will work closely with the Industrial Team to support customers and branch teams, monitor vendor pricing, and recommend inventory adjustments to maintain competitiveness. Additionally, the role includes tracking industrial projects, managing contract business, and collaborating with sales teams to ensure customer specifications are met.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize technical expertise of products, industry, and discipline to service customers with respect to all aspects of relationship including bid proposals, product usage, alternative products, etc.
  • Consult with customers on technical aspects of products and appropriateness for specific projects; including troubleshooting on technical issues, advising customers on products and costs, evaluating specs and bid submissions, and recommending sourcing and pricing bids for customers.
  • Work with the Industrial Team to support PVF customers and branch teams with project management assistance.
  • Monitor vendor pricing and service levels to maximize market competitiveness.
  • Recommend to Manager products to add or drop from inventory as well as recommend price changes to remain competitive.
  • Track Industrial related projects and shut downs while communicating opportunities to branch, relevant specialty divisions, and vendors.
  • Manage and report activity of industrial contract business.
  • Collaborate with outside and inside sales team to advise, source, and present quotes that meet technical specifications of customer jobs and projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or 3+ Years experience in Industrial and/or Commercial/Mechanical PVF Sales preferred
  • Comfortable communicating with engineers regarding critical systems
  • Experience with reading specifications and accurately identifying all relevant F. W. Webb product opportunities
  • Knowledge of and background with negotiating regional contracts or preferred supplier agreements
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Strong ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service in order to market FW Webb to new/existing customers
  • Strong customer service focus based on technical proficiency and product knowledge.
