About the position
CHS Inc. is seeking a full-time Crop Applicator/Truck Driver to join our team in Stevensville, MT & Drummond, MT. This role involves working independently to apply fertilizers and crop protection products while building relationships with local farmers. The position offers hands-on experience with various machinery and emphasizes safety and efficiency in operations.
Responsibilities
- Apply fertilizer and crop protection products as directed, using a high clearance sprayer or floater.
- Pick up and deliver products to customers as needed.
- Work courteously and professionally with customers, educating them on products and techniques.
- Assist sales staff in ensuring orders are correct and customer needs are met.
- Perform warehouse work including driving loader and forklift, mechanics, and maintenance.
- Lift and load products for 1-2 hours per day.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including pre-trip and post-trip reporting.
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and work environment.
- Complete and document daily maintenance inspections and ensure proper equipment maintenance.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Agriculture Production, Operations, and/or Agriculture Application.
- Must meet minimum age requirement.
- Maintain or be able to obtain a CDL and DOT medical card.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to work additional hours, be available for overnight stays and occasional weekends.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements preferred.
- Agriculture background and customer experience preferred.
- Bulk liquid, Pressure trailer, or Forklift experience preferred.
