About the position

The Custodian at Westerman, Inc. is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the facility, including offices, bathrooms, break rooms, and the plant. This role involves using appropriate cleaning chemicals and methods to ensure a safe and clean environment for all employees. The position requires regular attendance and the ability to perform various cleaning tasks efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Clean offices, lobby, restrooms, break rooms, locker areas, outdoor break areas, and shop floor.
• Pick up debris and restock supplies as needed.
• Clean and sanitize toilets, sinks, and surfaces.
• Clean windows and mirrors, dust, and remove cobwebs.
• Clean drink dispensers, refrigerators, microwaves, and perform floor care.
• Ensure drains are working properly or unclog as needed.
• Clean water dispensers, fountains, and eye wash areas.
• Know and use chemicals safely, following instructions and wearing appropriate PPE.
• Remove trash from plant, office, and breakroom areas.
• Perform floor care including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing tile floors, and vacuuming carpeted floors.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and order when necessary.
• Take instructions and guidance from the cleaning schedule and supervisor.
• Maintain the exterior of the building, including mowing grass and removing debris.
• Drive forklift to assist in assignments.
• Other duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1-year related experience and/or training as a custodian.
• Minimum of 1-year previous forklift experience.
• Ability to prioritize safety and demonstrate safe work practices.
• Effective communication skills to relay information and ensure understanding.
• Time management skills to use time efficiently to complete tasks.
• Ability to prioritize important tasks for completion.
