About the position

The Custodian/Setups position at the University of Central Missouri involves performing a variety of custodial and setup duties to maintain cleanliness and prepare spaces for events. This full-time role is essential for ensuring that facilities are clean, safe, and ready for use by students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, dust mop, spot mop, spray buff, shower scrub, burnish, and refinish all hard surface floors throughout the assigned area.
• Vacuum, spot clean, shampoo, and extract carpets throughout the assigned area.
• Move furniture, equipment, and materials as needed for general maintenance.
• Service, clean, and disinfect restrooms, classrooms, offices, and drinking fountains.
• Maintain custodial closets, work areas, and equipment in a clean and safe manner.
• Remove trash and debris from the building to the dumpster.
• Set-up and strike conference rooms, meeting rooms, dining areas, and other areas as assigned.
• Detail all areas of the setup in preparation for events, including cleaning doors, partition glass, interior windows, blinds, light fixtures, and vents.
• Dust furniture and spot clean walls, ceilings, and doors/frames as needed.
• Perform snow removal as required and report any repairs or replacements needed to FPO.
• Assist floor crew personnel as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial experience preferred.
• Previous set-up experience preferred.
